As an Architect, I always tell my clients we need to make the best, cost-effective decisions.  Right now-It is an expensive time to build.  Try to find a contractor in a normal year can be a struggle-now, it is even more difficult as they are swamped.

As you plan your budget-just keep in mind the increase of framing lumber.  Supply chain and demand has led to a huge uptick in board foot pricing and has added to the costs of almost all construction.,
